The Building Maintenance Services (BMS) division focuses on construction projects in Lincoln and the wider East Midlands region, handling both planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as smaller works. They cater to a broad spectrum of clients across sectors such as affordable housing, food, retail, education, commercial, industrial, and healthcare. Their strong client relationships, built over time, result in most projects being awarded through direct negotiation with repeat clients.


About the Role:

My client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their BMS division. The Estimator will be responsible for delivering competitive and accurate tenders for projects up to £10m. The role is based in Lincoln and involves working on a variety of new build and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Traditional and Design & Build tenders

  • Appraise tender documents and prepare subcontractor and material enquiries

  • Produce detailed and measured bills of quantities

  • Conduct risk and value management

  • Prepare budgets, estimates, and cost plans

  • Participate in internal tender adjudications and external client presentations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong building background with extensive knowledge of refurbishment and new build construction across various sectors

  • Good understanding of CDM 2015 Health & Safety regulations, modern construction methods, and contractual awareness

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel

  • Experience with specialist estimating software is preferred

  • Experience in procuring small and large subcontract packages

  • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously

  • A Higher Education qualification (HNC, Diploma, Degree) in a construction-related field is advantageous but not essential

The successful candidate must demonstrate high attention to detail, possess an innovative and proactive approach to problem-solving, and have effective planning skills to meet deadlines.
