My client is an established design consultancy with a 30-year track record in the UK. Based in Sevenoaks, Kent, they have earned a reputation for delivering meticulous design engineering services. With a portfolio spanning residential, commercial, and education sectors, they are poised for growth and are seeking a skilled Chartered Structural Engineer to join their dedicated team.

Role Overview:
As a Chartered Structural Engineer with my client, you'll provide technical design support across various projects. This role offers ongoing work opportunities and excellent avenues for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on residential, commercial, and education projects, demonstrating expertise in design completion for these sectors.

  • Produce accurate reports and designs, and lead and guide junior engineers and technicians to meet client requirements.

  • Check designs and drawings of other engineers and technicians within the Structural Engineering team.

  • Develop and mentor junior staff members.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with UK-based design consultancies.

  • Background in similar projects to align with the company's workload.

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Chartered Status with the IStructE or ICE.

  • Experience with Steel, Concrete, Masonry, and Timber materials.

  • Proficiency in British Standards, Eurocodes, and relevant design guidance.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and technical design skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Software Proficiency:

  • AutoCAD

  • Civils 3D

  • WinDes / MicroDrainage

  • Microsoft Office suite

Schedule:
Monday to Friday

Requirements:

  • Ability to commute or plan to relocate to Sevenoaks before starting work.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Valid work authorization in the UK.
